By accessing or using the The Detective Project web site you are acknowledging that you have read, understood and agreed without limitation or qualification, to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms & Conditions will govern all contracts between you and The Detective Project generated through the use of this website. Your statutory rights are not affected. The Detective Project reserves the right to change these terms and conditions as and when required to do so.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions of Sale, including the use of this website and /or any purchases made by you from The Detective Project shall be concluded in English and shall be governed by English law and the parties hereto submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Cancellations by The Detective Project

In the unlikely event that The Detective Project were to cancel the event, a full refund will be given of monies paid.

Accuracy of Information

The information we publish within this website has been validated as far as we can and all reasonable care to ensure that all product details, descriptions and prices are offered without any liability whatsoever and we do not warrant that all the product descriptions on this site is complete, accurate, current or error free.

For fraud prevention purposes we advise you to contact us to confirm the correct bank details prior to payment of invoices and bills via email requests.

 

 

2. Children's Parties

The party host is responsible for ensuring a permission slip has been completed by the parent / guardian of each child attending. This can be found on the tear off reply slip on the party invitation. By returning the reply slip and sending their child to the party, the parents are consenting to the conditions below.

The party may include the following activities, by signing the consent form (on the reply slip of the invitation) the parent /guardian is giving permission for their child to take part any of thef ollowing;

  • Investigating a mock crime scene based around a skeleton with clues to solve a fictitious crime using real police methods.
  • Taking their fingerprints using elimination ink pads(The child will bring their own fingerprints home)
  • Dusting surfaces for fingerprints using aluminium powder and brushes.
  • Other crime investigation procedures of an age appropriate nature.

The children may have to search for clues and your host may have arranged for the children to wear disposable investigators suits. It is best if your child wears comfortable clothes (trousers) that they do not mind getting a bit dirty.

We take care to use products that are washable and they should not permanently mark or stain clothing but it is possible that delicate fabrics might be stained.

While carrying out their investigations the children may come into contact with various substances such as fingerprint ink, dustingpowder and stage blood. If your child is likely to be allergic to any of the substances please make sure the party organiser is aware of this.

The parent or care giver is responsible at all times for the general supervision of children within the party venue. Whether at home or at any other premises, of rthe supervision of exits, and for ensuring that children only leave the party venue with their own parent or guardian. Our responsibility is strictly limited to the supervision of party activities provided by us.

A £50 deposit will be required to secure your booking date and time. Party dates and times are then fixed. If however, your circumstances change, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best accommodate your change.

A balance payment for your party will be required no later than 7 days before your event. Payments are non-refundable. However, we will endeavour to accommodate date and time changes where possible.

We will contact you 5 days before the party to confirm our attendance and the numbers of children attending. If we do not hear from you we will assume that the final number is that stated on your initial booking form.

Upon receiving the balance payment, you will have your details confirmed, including your party hosts name and contact number.

In the unlikely event that The Detective Project were to cancel the event, a full refund will be given of all monies paid.

All The Detective Project staff have enhanced DBS clearance and public liability insurance. A Risk assessment is available for all activities offered.

3. Schools & Workshops

The teacher or school supervisor is responsible at all times for the general supervision of children within school during our workshops. Our responsibility is strictly limited to the supervision of workshop activities provided by The Detective Project.

The children may have to search for clues and your organiser may have arranged for the children to wear disposable investigators suits. It is best if children wear uniform or comfortable clothes (trousers) that they do not mind getting a bit dirty.

We take care to use products that are washable and they should not permanently mark or stain clothing but it is possible that delicate fabrics might be stained.

The school workshop will include practical demonstrations of crime scene investigation, including but not limited to;

  • Investigating a mock crime scene based around a skeleton with clues to solve a fictitious crime.
  • Taking their fingerprints using elimination ink pads (The child will bring their own fingerprints back to class)
  • Dusting surfaces for fingerprints using aluminium powder and brushes.
  • Other crime investigation procedures of an age appropriate nature.

Workshop dates and times are fixed when the booking form is returned. Full payment is required 7 days before the booking, an invoice will be sent with the booking form.

We will contact you 7 days before the workshop to confirm our attendance and the numbers of children expected. If we do not hear from you we will assume that the final number is that stated on the initial booking form.

4. Corporate & Team Building events

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS (SUPPLY OF GOODS AND SERVICES) BETWEENTWO BUSINESSES

  1. General

    1.1 Any terms or conditions sought to be imposed by either party shall not be incorporated into the Contract and shall have no effect unless agreed to in writing by the other party.1.2 We may, as your agent, directly or through an intermediary ask another contractor(“Third Party Contractor”) to carry out some or all of any work which you instruct us to carry out for you. We shall pay the reasonable charges of Third Party Contractors on your behalf and recharge them to you with our own fees. We will ensure that the ThirdParty Contractor fees which are recharged to you are in line with the fees we will have quoted to you, had we done the work ourselves. We will take all reasonable care in selecting and instructing a Third Party Contractor.

  2. Prices

    2.1 The price for the supply of good and services are set out in writing. We shall invoice you on the booking confirmation.

    2.2 Return of the booking form confirms your contract for The Detective Project to supply the service.

    2.3 The price of the goods and services is exclusive of Value Added Tax which, if appropriate, shall be charged at the rate prevailing at the relevant tax point.

  3. Payment

    The price for the goods and/or services shall be payable no later than 30 days from the date of the relevant invoice. The time stipulated for payment shall be of the essence of the agreement. Failure to pay within the period specified shall entitle us to write to you upon the expiration of seven days notice, to charge you for costs and expenses incurred in recovering late payments, and to charge interest at the rate then in force pursuant to the Late Payment ofCommercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 as at the due date.

  4. Cancellation Fees

    If the booking is cancelled after the Booking form has been returned, full payment is still required for the event. Date changes will be accommodated at our discretion.

  5. Warranty

    5.1 We warrant that the services performed under this Agreement shall be performed using reasonable skill and care, and of a quality conforming to generally accepted industry standards and practices.

  6. Invalidity

    If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.

  7. Liability

    7.1. Except for death or personal injury caused by our negligent acts or omissions we shall only be liable for any loss or damage which is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of a breach of this Agreement.

    7.2. You will be responsible for all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses suffered or incurred by us as a result of your breach or default in the discharge of your obligations.

    7.3. Where we need to carry out work on your premises and/or install equipment, we will not accept liability for the cost of repairing or replacing parts of your existing system which occurs due to faults in your system unless we have been negligent in not realising that such damage may occur or in the way, we did the work.

    7.4. In the event of our losing or damaging your goods, we will pay for the reasonable costs of the repair or replacement (less wear or tear) of the item or provide you with a full refund if we have been negligent.

    7.5. Nothing in this Agreement shall exclude or limit the Company’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from the Company’s negligence or that of its employees, agents or sub-contractors.

  8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    Parties to this Agreement agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

  9. Entire Agreement

    This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties relating to the subject matter and supersedes any previous agreements, arrangements, undertakings or proposals, oral or written.

  10. Third Party Rights

    Nothing in this Agreement is intended to, nor shall it confer any rights on a third party.

  11. Customer Services

    If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact the company director. Any complaints will be dealt with sympathetically and we will work with you to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

  12. Changes to Terms and Conditions of Business

    We reserve the right to make minor changes to this Agreement from time to time. Any major changes will only be made with your agreement.

  13. Data Protection

    You consent to the computer storage and processing of your personal data by us in connection with this Agreement and to the transmission of this data across the company and its business partners for the purposes of our legitimate interests including statistical analysis, marketing of our services and credit control. If you breach this Agreement, your personal data may be disclosed or passed to third parties to the extent necessary to assist recovery procedures.
